Hear What Our Customers Have to Say

This is just a note to say thank you for such exceptional service!

My wife and I along with our two small children were beginning our March Break vacation and decided to go to our cottage near Powassan.

We left from our house in Toronto and got to about 5 Km's south of Trout Creek when my car's temperature gauge started to rise rapidly.

We pulled over and found water leaking out on the ground and a shredded fan belt.

After the tow truck arrived, I asked the driver if he knew of a place where the car could be repaired quickly and properly.

He said the best place he knew was 'True North Chev Cadillac"

We arrived at 'True North" at approx 9:00 pm Sunday night.

The next morning at 6:45 am, I was knocking on 'True North's" door.

I was greeted by Dave Lavalle.  I explained my dilemma and thought to myself, I bet they won't even look at the car for a day or two

To my delight, Dave took it in right away.

The repairs required turned out to be extensive.

I was brought to the vehicle several times during the day and shown exactly what was wrong.

I consider myself well versed in automotive repair and was wondering again to myself if I was going to experience a bit of a 'snow job' on what was actually required for repair.  (Regrettably, this is an all too familiar occurrence with many shops).

I can assure you, beyond a shadow of a doubt, there was none of that activity.  'True North' was very professional and replaced only that which was absolutely required.

I was notified near the end of the day that my car was ready and we could be on our way.

Three things impressed me the most about 'True North"

1/ The high level of friendly courteous service.
2/ The high level of mechanical competence.
3/ The timeliness of the repair.

These three items impressed me the most because my car was not a GM product, it was a BMW.

The two closest BMW dealerships around are Barrie and Sudbury.  So, for 'True North" to even find the correct parts, let alone have them installed within the day was impressive.

Thank you all again for allowing us to successfully resume our March Break Vacation.

Sincerely,

On Sept 08, 2011 we purchased a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox from True North Chevrolet Cadillac Ltd. on Seymour St., in North Bay Ont.  Our sales person was Stuart Farrer.  He was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and helpful.  He explained the safety features of the Equinox which includes the six airbags and OnStar.  Upon picking the vehicle up, he sat in the vehicle with is explaining its features and answering all our questions.  He personally activated OnStar and registered us.  This demonstration was so helpful in our understanding how to use OnStar.

On Sep. 25, 2011 my wife, sister, brother-in-law, and I were driving back to North Bay from Buffalo Airport.  We had just enjoyed a wonderful week vacation in Las Vegas.  We has just stopped for a meal in Orillia, my brother-in-law fell in love with our new Equinox and has shared the driving to Buffalo the week before.  Therefore, after our meal he became the driver.

Back in the car we were talking about how well we traveled together and were discussing our next trip together in 2012.

We were about 16 km south of Huntsville when suddenly the car sped up and began veering off the road.  I quickly looked over and shook my brother-in-law's shoulder.  He was non-responsive.  I looked back at the road but it was too late to respond as we were leaving the road and entering the medium.  We were heading very fast toward a rock.  We heard a loud bang.  Everything went black.

According to the police, our car rolled several times after hitting the rock.  The firemen used "jaws of life" to remove the roof.  We were ambulanced to Muskoka Hospital, operated on, and helicoptered to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.  The police stated later on that they could not believe that three people had survived that accident.  It is believed that our brother-in-law suffered a massive heart attack.  It was believed that the care being equipped with 6 airbags and OnStar had saved our lives.

It is a miracle that the three of us survived the accident without losing an arm or a leg, or sustaining brain damage.  We are going thru physiotherapy and eventually we will regain most all of our physical functioning.

We not only believe, but know that the Equinox saved our lives.  The six airbags kicked in immediately wrapping around us; and OnStar immediately alerted EMS (Emergency Medical System) and ambulances and fire trucks were on their way.

Without this immediate response my wife and I would have died.

Following the accident, Stuart visited us in our home, expressing condolences and best wishes on behalf of all the staff at True North.  During this difficult period, the staff from True North assisted us not only with the purchase of a new Equinox; but, also with dealing with our insurance company in regards to the accident.  This was extremely appreciated.
